Marty’s conversion on Garry from pilot to engineer continues. Garry is now at the stage were he can be trusted with sharp objects such as drills and countersink tooling. He has also managed thus far at least to keep his fingers out of the way of the pnuematic squeeze riveter.
What is a Bearhawk and why no pics or info but Aug 12 “update”? Which really doesn’t say much but humor.
Hi William, there is a small rundown on the Bearhawk on the website, it is a 4 place taildragger kit manufactured in the USA, an ideal aircraft for New Zealand. From time to time you will get humour on this site to understand it fully you may have to visit us.
geez, I remember Raz from about 32 years back, I was a young fella of 10 at Ohakea when the F111 fell off the runway, and I also remember Raz or Stew White dropping a slat off a Squawk at low altitude and inverted, I actually saw it come off and flutter to the ground.
My dad was Stan Knighton, Flt Lt of 75 Squadron about 1979 to 1982.
Always wonder what happened to the old flyboys etc, and Ohakea was the best time of my life, great memories and mischief on that base, particularly when ANZUS was alive and well and I was on the “plane park” touching the F15’s F4’s and Mirages even before the turbine was stopped!
Fantastic memories…
Troy Knighton.
